Thank you so much for your interest in supporting Bobs for Good. Our team works whole heartedly to ensure the poorest children of our country receive shoes but we can’t do it without your help and donations. The Bobs for Good online donations system is safe and secure. You will be taken to our ‘GivenGain’ site where all your transactions are processed. Don’t worry, we’ve checked it numerous times to make sure it works securely.
The Bobs for Good Foundation is a non-profit organisation which means we can gratefully accept donations and corporate sponsorship to fulfill our organisation’s vision. The Bobs for Good Foundation proudly and relentlessly strives towards being a model of efficiency and sustainability in a notoriously inefficient ‘social space’. At present, just over 80% of your donations go straight towards putting shoes upon children’s feet. Quite simply, Bobs for Good creates high impact, transparent and immediate social change which focuses on education and social development at grass roots level.
We believe non-profit organisations should be responsible and transparent like us about where the funds are being spent. Charity Navigator (www.charitynavigator.org), the largest independent evaluator of charities in America, continuously researches 1000′s of charities who typically spend approximately 80% of income on program expenses. We are so pleased with our impressive statistics that we blew the company vuvuzela out the office window and ate lots of Ben’s cup cakes to celebrate. We’re actually striving to increase our beneficiary spend to 90% by the end of the year.
How do we Achieve these Impressive Results?
We really will make your money go far to benefit children across South Africa. Usually, we keep the money raised by good citizens across the country in that area. For example, if someone from Durban wants to help us out, we will usually direct the shoe donations back into disadvantaged areas in KwaZulu Natal. It keeps our fun-raisers happy and it keeps us responsible and true to our word.
Thanks to the incredible support, in the means of resources, from our corporate sponsors, Bobs for Good eradicates potentially huge operations costs. For example, Berco, the global express courier company, sponsors the delivery all of our shoes to schools in need across the country. Bobs for Good welcomes any company or organisation who wishes to partner with us and sponsor their resources to help get even more shoes on children’s feet. We have a beneficiary database that has been compiled by the Department of Education, grass roots NGOs and local people. We then screen the schools / organisations that are potentially going to benefit from a donation of shoes. We know exactly who needs shoes and where those children are so we don’t waste time hunting for beneficiaries and accumulating
more administrative expenses.
Bobs for Good has an innovative sustainability model through our
partnering organisation, www.bobsforgood.com, the Bobs for Good social enterprise. This is our online shop which sells quality, affordable, South African made shoes. This is our ‘for-profit’ venture which generates income but it doesn’t stop there. For every pair of shoes you buy, we will donate a pair of school shoes to a child in need. You can buy a pair of gorgeous hand made shoes from our online shop 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
